“Star Trek”

The story of how Kirk entered Starfleet and first took command of the Enterprise.  It stars Chris Pine as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Karl Urban as McCoy, Simon Pegg as Scotty and John Cho as Sulu.

Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric are parents of a girl dying from leukemia, who decide to have a second daughter that can act as an organ donor.  Abigail Breslin is the donor kid who gets tired of the endless medical treatments, and hires an attorney . . . played by Alec Baldwin . . . to medically emancipate her.

 

“Bruno”

Sacha Baron Cohen takes his flamboyantly gay Bruno character around the country interviewing unsuspecting people for a fictional Austrian TV station.  (–After the credits, he records a charity song with Bono, Elton John, Snoop Dogg, Sting and Slash.)

 

“Is Anybody There?”

Michael Caine plays a widowed magician who reluctantly enters an old age home and befriends the young son of the owner.

 

“The Open Road”

Justin Timberlake plays a baseball player who goes on a road trip to track down his father, after his mother becomes sick.  Jeff Bridges plays his dad and Mary Steenburgen is his mom.
